We are looking back on a good year full of events and lookingforward to new challenges, great events and further harmonious working relationships with you in 2010.

2010 will be a very special year for us and the Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz - it is our birthday and we will be 40 years young. Celebrate this historic anniversary with us! For this occasionwe have thought up many surprises and offers for you - it´stime to get excited!

But at first sight take a look back at our history.... the hotel was designed and built by the collective Roland Korn, Heinz Scharlipp and Hans Erich Bogatzky, between 1967 and 1970.

The hotel was opened in 1970 as Inter-Hotel "Berlin" with 2,000 beds. It was only some five-star hotels in the eastern part of Berlin for a four-star hotel where the delegations preferred the countries of the Warsaw Pact were accommodated. At that time, the fast elevators were remarkable. After reunification, it was initially Forum Hotel, since 2003 it is the Park Inn Berlin-Alexanderplatz operated by the Belgian Rezidor Hotel Group.

The Park Inn Hotel was restored gradually after reunification. All rooms were redesigned in 2001 at a cost of 20 million euros. From May to November 2005, the 15,000 sqm large glass (which is outside the windows) is renewed. The new 6800 mirrored facade elements cost 3 million euros.

In 2006, the Hotel Stadt Berlin GmbH, including the related land plots by the U.S. Blackstone Group has been acquired. In October 2006, two 35 meter high masts for antennas were mounted on the roof. Thus, the amount does not include structures at 149.5 meters. The skyscraper is the tallest hotel building in Germany .
