Fifth Firefighter Stairrun at Park Inn Berlin
Lifesavers in a Race against Time
On the third weekend of April, with a sunny 17 degrees, firefighters from all over Germany took part in the 5th Firefighter Stairrun in Germany’s tallest hotel at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz.
Starting at 11 am, and 30 seconds apart, 366 Firefighting Teams crossed the Alex Oase Biergarten and climbed the 770 steps and 39 floors of the Park Inn Hotel while wearing their complete suits and respiratory masks to reach the Panorama Roof Top Terrace with a height of 125m.
At the same time, observers also had the opportunity to become lifesavers: The association “Berlin zeigt Herz” (Berlin Shows Heart), the DKMS Deutsche Knochenmarkspende (German Bone-marrow Donations) and the TFA-Team (Toughest Firefighter Alive) of the company sports club of the Berliner Feuerwehr e.V. (Berlin Firefighters), a stem-cell typification for the 4 year old Nour from Berlin.TO THE EVENT WEBSITE
