Music Highlights in Berlin
A full program of musical highlights is waiting for you in Berlin this week.
From the 5th to the 8th of November such a variety of musical events will be taking place, that you can’t say Berlin is not a musical city! From Jazz to Pop, from Schlager to Marching Music. In the coming week everyone will find something to their taste.
Already on Thursday the Berlin Jazzfest will be starting. Over four days international artists will be showing off their abilities at locations such as the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis Kirche and the Akademie der Künste. Now for the 51st time, musicians from 30 nations, are looking forward to a national and international audience. The event will be ended with an event on Friday night where the German Jazz Award will be awarded at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.
At this same point in time the queen of the German pop scene, NENA will be performing in the Mercedes-Benz Arena to celebrate her album “Oldschool” and will be bringing some interesting guests along. Adameva and Frida Gold will be supporting the pop icon. A great show is guaranteed, and will be crowned with a guest appearance from Boss Hoss.
At the same location the Folk Rock’n’Rollers will be lighting up the stage the following night. Andreas Gabalier is visiting Berlin on the 7th of November for his Arena Tour 2015. We’re eagerly awaiting to see whether he plays a couple of songs from his new album “Mountain Man”.
For those who are not into folksy music, but still does appreciate traditional hand-played music there is the Berlin Military TATTOO on Saturday and Sunday. This is one of the largest military tatoos in Europe. In the Max-Schmeling-Halle over 700 musicians from Europe, America and Asia will be presenting the art of marching music. This nationality unifying music fest is an insiders tip among Berlin’s largest events.
