U2 in Berlin – Events in Berlin
The iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour 2015 brings Bono to Berlin
At 4 Berlin concerts, fans of the irish rock band U2 had the chance to experience their idols live. At the end of September, the band played in the former O2 Arena and gave the new Mercedes Benz Arena it’s first star appeal.
U2 has been playing since 1976, and is celebrating it’s 40 year anniversary next year and the release of their new album “Songs of Innocence” with a tour of the Americas and Europe.
The four members: Mitglieder Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton will be visiting a total of 11 countries, and playing in 40 concerts in 12 cities playing songs from their new album, as well as classics and hits. 35 years after the release of their first single, these rock legends are still alive and rocking, as this tour will once again prove.
Aside from their rock career Bono and Co. have also been long-time promoters of environmental protection, human rights, and have cooperated with organisations such as Greenpeace and Amensty International.
However with their new album they touch on the subject of their own history. The song “The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)” is a tribute to a founding member of the the Ramones, who according to Bono was a big musical influence for him. This inspiration will be posthumously honoured with this incredible song. Concert-goers could enjoy this song at all four Berlin concerts, because each concert of this tour was started with this song.
