In this competition, 2-man teams in their complete firefighting kit with connected breathing apparatus will run up 39 floors, which is the equivalent of 770 steps over an altitude difference of 110 metres. Their goal: the panoramic roof terrace of Berlins highest hotel building. 307 teams from 6 different countries will participate and try to beat last years record time of 6.09 minutes.
General Manager Thomas Hattenberger welcomes this unusual competition for the 2nd time in our house. He kills the birds with one stone: “After the stair run the fire fighters know our house like the back of their hand, so we don´t need to worry in an emergeny. Besides, there will be lot to watch for the audience at Alexanderplatz: extreme athletic achievement and exciting competitions.“
